TOWN OF CASEY ANNUAL TOWN MEETING Casey Town Hall April 15, 2009 7:00 p.m. Minutes At 7:00 p.m., at the Casey Town Hall, Chairperson Gene Bethel called the Annual Town Meeting to order. Clerk Slabaugh posted the Annual Meeting notice on March 29, 2009, in the posting cabinets located at the Town Hall, at the junction of Dunn Lake and Island Lake Roads, at the junction of Blackburn Road and County Trunk E, and at the junction of Pair O Lakes Road and County Trunk E between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Those present were: Mary Emerson, Betty Seckora, Town Board members: Chairperson Gene Bethel, Supervisor Danny Swearingen, Supervisor Michael Wallace, Clerk Corinne Slabaugh, and Treasurer Cherie Luell. Clerk Slabaugh read minutes of the Annual Meeting held on April 9, 2008. Chairperson Bethel asked for additions or corrections. None given. On motion by Michael Wallace, seconded by Danny Swearingen to accept minutes as read. Motion carried. The 2008 financial report, compiled by Clerk Slabaugh, given to those in attendance. Chairperson Bethel read the 2008 financial report. Chairperson Bethel asked for additions or corrections. None given. Discussion followed. On motion by Mary Emerson, seconded by Michael Wallace to accept the financial report as printed. Motion carried. Treasurer Luell read the Town of Casey Annual Meeting Treasurer’s Report. Membership in the Wisconsin Towns Association discussed. On motion by Mary Emerson, seconded by Michael Wallace to extend membership in Wisconsin Towns Association. Motion carried. Discussion held on date for next Annual Meeting. On motion by Mary Emerson, seconded by Michael Wallace to hold the next Annual Meeting on Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. Motion carried. Shall the Town of Casey authorize elected Town Board members to receive additional compensation above their set annual salaries for work performed for the Town of Casey outside the description of their respective positions as set forward in section 60.37(4) of the Wisconsin statutes? Discussion followed. Total from a show of hands vote: For additional compensation 7 Against additional compensation 0 Resolution is Approved. Shall the Town of Casey set an hourly rate of $8.50 (eight dollars and fifty cents) per hour as the rate of pay received by elected Town Board members when performing work for the Town of Casey outside the description of their respective positions as stated in Wisconsin Statutes? Discussion followed. Total from a show of hands vote: For hourly pay rate 7 Against hourly pay rate 0 Resolution is Approved. The Casey Town Board submitted for consideration of the town electors: Shall the Town of Casey spend up to $33,300 over $266,700 which is the annual limit of the product of $5,000 multiplied by the 53.34 miles of highway under the jurisdiction of the town measurer by the most recent highway mileage for the town as determined under section 86.302 of the Wisconsin statutes, for the construction, maintenance, and repair of its highways and bridges? Discussion followed. Total from a show of hands vote: For Spending Increase 7 Against Spending Increase 0 Resolution is Approved.
